The production of Arabica coffee is facing several challenges in the near future. In particular, it must cope with a changing climate & multiple diseases. This talk will focus on the variation in the DNA of wild & cultivated Arabica coffee plants to learn how the evolutionary origin of Arabica coffee & the spread of Arabica coffee cultivation have shaped the coffee landscape & how DNA variation in wild plants can contribute to a sustainable coffee production in the future.ā
